Chiropractic Adjustments
Gentle, precise spinal adjustments using the Activator Method — no twisting, no cracking. Suitable for all ages from infants to seniors.
Chiropractic Adjustments DetailsA full 40 minutes, one-on-one with me — every visit. Time to find why you really hurt and fix the cause, not just chase the pain.
Why It Actually Hurts
Most musculoskeletal pain comes from the interaction of three problems. Treat one without the other two and the pain returns. Every visit, I check all three.
Joints stuck or misaligned
When a vertebra or joint drifts, the muscles around it compensate. The drift is the symptom; the muscle is the cause.
Chronic guarding & fascial restriction
A muscle that has been guarding for months stops releasing. It pulls joints out of position and limits movement.
Inhibited or "offline" muscles
When a muscle shuts down, the supporting structure collapses around it. Adjustments alone won't hold — the offline muscle has to come back online.

A Whole Body Approach
Hi, I'm Dr. Brent Hirschi. I built Muscle Works Chiropractic in Coeur d'Alene around a simple idea: you should leave knowing why you hurt — not just feeling adjusted and rushed back out the door. Every visit with me is a full 40 minutes, one-on-one. That's real time to watch how your body moves, find the soft-tissue restrictions and muscle imbalances behind your pain, and treat the cause so the relief actually lasts. I've practiced this way for 17 years, and it's why patients drive in from across North Idaho to see me.
Your Time With Me
At most clinics a chiropractic visit lasts five minutes — a quick crack and you're back out the door. That was never going to be enough to fix anything real. When you come to see me, you have my full attention for 40 minutes. We talk through what you're feeling, I watch how you move, and I work hands-on through the muscles and soft tissue that are actually driving the problem. You're a person to me — not the next name on a list.
The Root Cause
Pain is a signal, not the whole story — and where you hurt is often not where the problem started. I look at the full chain: your posture, old injuries, the way you move through your day. Then I find the soft-tissue restrictions and muscle imbalances behind it and we work on mobility and functional movement together. The goal isn't to feel better for a day. It's to move, feel, and perform better for the long run.
The Difference
I'm not interested in quick adjustments and a fast goodbye. Here's how care with me compares to what most people expect.
15 Years in North Idaho
I moved my family to Coeur d'Alene in 2013 and opened Muscle Works Chiropractic, and I've spent the years since helping people here get back to the trails, the lake, the field, and the backyard. Fifteen years into this work, I've learned that the patients who get lasting results are the ones whose muscles are doing their job — so that's where I focus. When you come in, your care is in the hands of someone who has done this a long time, and who still loves it.

Common Questions
Most chiropractors focus on spinal adjustments. I focus on the muscles that hold your spine in place. Using Muscle Therapy, I test hundreds of muscles to find the ones that have shut down, then reactivate them so your body can hold its own alignment. That means longer-lasting results, fewer visits — and a full 40 minutes one-on-one every time, never a rushed appointment.
Your first visit is a full movement pattern and muscle function evaluation. I’ll test hundreds of muscles to find which ones have shut down and are driving your pain, then build you a personalized treatment plan from what I find. Plan on about 60 minutes — and on having my full attention the whole time.
No. I use the Activator Method — a gentle, instrument-assisted adjustment technique with no twisting, popping, or cracking. It’s comfortable for patients of every age, from infants to seniors. You may feel mild tenderness as dormant muscles wake back up, but that usually settles within a day.
Most patients feel significant improvement in 6–10 visits. My goal is to get you better and graduate you — not to keep you coming back indefinitely. After your initial plan, many patients choose occasional maintenance visits to stay ahead of trouble, but that’s always your choice.
Yes. I’m a VA-credentialed chiropractic provider. If you’re a veteran with a VA community care referral, your chiropractic care with me is fully covered — no copay, no deductible, no out-of-pocket cost. Contact our VA liaison, Kelly Young, to get started.
Most people feel a meaningful shift within the first one to three visits. Because the work targets the specific muscles that have shut down — not just where it hurts — changes tend to stick rather than fade between sessions. Complex or long-standing issues may need a short series of visits to fully unwind, and I’ll be straight with you about what to expect after your evaluation.
I operate as a cash-based practice so I can spend the full hour focused on you instead of on insurance paperwork. I’m happy to provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
