Myofascial Release
Hands-on therapy that breaks up fascial adhesions and scar tissue to restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve circulation throughout the body.
Myofascial release is a hands-on therapy that targets the fascia — the connective tissue web that surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in your body. When fascia becomes tight or develops adhesions (from injury, surgery, inflammation, or repetitive stress), it restricts movement and causes pain.
What to Expect
Dr. Hirschi uses sustained manual pressure to release fascial restrictions:
- FAKTR technique — Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation — combines instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization with movement
- Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) — treats soft tissue injuries by breaking up scar tissue while the patient actively moves the affected area
- Manual myofascial stretching — slow, sustained pressure that allows fascia to elongate and release
Conditions That Respond Well
- Chronic neck and back tightness
- IT band syndrome and runner’s knee
- Plantar fasciitis
- Post-surgical scar tissue
- Frozen shoulder
- TMJ dysfunction
