Chiropractor in Liberty Lake, WA

Liberty Lake is the newest town on this stretch of I-90 — a fast-growing pocket of about 9,000 people tucked against the Washington-Idaho line, eight miles west of our clinic. It doesn’t feel like a Spokane suburb so much as its own thing: newer construction, a working downtown around Pavillion Park, the lake itself on the south end, and Trailhead Golf and MeadowWood pulling weekend traffic from across the region. Itron’s headquarters sits at the north end of town, and a lot of the patients I see from Liberty Lake either work there, run their own shop from a home office, or commute the 20 minutes into downtown Spokane.

That mix shows up in the bodies that come through the door. Executives and engineers who’ve been pinned to a monitor for ten hours and can’t turn their head to the right anymore. Golfers from Trailhead and MeadowWood who tweaked something rotating through a swing. Runners coming off the Centennial Trail with a hip that won’t let go. Hockey parents from the rinks. Kids playing CV Eagles football and soccer who landed wrong. People in Liberty Lake tend to be active and tend to push through things — which usually means they show up after the problem has been there a while.

How This Is Different

Most chiropractic offices in this area run a quick in-and-out model — you wait, you get cracked, you leave in ten minutes, you come back three times a week. That isn’t how I practice.

Every visit at Muscle Works is 40 minutes, one-on-one with me. Not 40 minutes with a tech and five minutes with the doctor. Forty minutes with Dr. Brent Hirschi, every single time. First visit is a full hour so I can actually figure out what’s going on.

The other piece is the order of operations. I’m muscle-first. After 15+ years doing this, the pattern I see over and over is that joints don’t drift on their own — a muscle quits firing, the joint compensates, and then it gets stuck. If you only chase the joint, the muscle pulls it right back out within a day or two. So I find the muscle that shut down, wake it up with hands-on work, and then use the Activator method to settle the joint. The Activator is a small spring-loaded instrument — no twisting, no cracking, no cavitation sound. It’s specific, it’s gentle, and it holds because the muscle underneath it is now doing its job.

That’s also why most patients here aren’t on a three-times-a-week schedule for months. The work holds longer when you fix the cause.

Conditions Liberty Lake Patients Bring

The most common thing I see from Liberty Lake is what I’d call executive back — the neck, upper trap, and mid-back pattern that builds up from long hours at a desk. Tech neck. The shoulder that’s been creeping up toward the ear for two years. Golfers from Trailhead and MeadowWood show up with rotator cuff irritation and mid-back rotation issues that limit their swing. Runners on the Centennial Trail bring hip flexor problems, IT band complaints, and the occasional plantar issue.

Then there are the post-MVA cases — the Liberty Lake exit on I-90 sees its share of rear-enders, and whiplash that doesn’t get treated early tends to turn into a long-term neck problem. And the kids: CV Eagles football, hockey overuse, growth-related back pain.

Veterans in Liberty Lake

Liberty Lake and the surrounding east valley have a real veteran population, and the clinic is set up as a VA Community Care provider. If you’re a veteran with a chiropractic benefit through the VA, you can use it here with a single referral from the VA Community Care office — I handle the paperwork on my end so you’re not chasing it.

Mention you’re a vet when you call and we’ll walk you through what the referral needs to say.

FAQ — Muscle Works Chiropractic in Liberty Lake

Common questions from Liberty Lake clients.

Most chiropractors focus on spinal adjustments. I focus on the muscles that hold your spine in place. Using Muscle Therapy, I test hundreds of muscles to find the ones that have shut down, then reactivate them so your body can hold its own alignment. That means longer-lasting results, fewer visits — and a full 40 minutes one-on-one every time, never a rushed appointment.

Your first visit is a full movement pattern and muscle function evaluation. I’ll test hundreds of muscles to find which ones have shut down and are driving your pain, then build you a personalized treatment plan from what I find. Plan on about 60 minutes — and on having my full attention the whole time.

No. I use the Activator Method — a gentle, instrument-assisted adjustment technique with no twisting, popping, or cracking. It’s comfortable for patients of every age, from infants to seniors. You may feel mild tenderness as dormant muscles wake back up, but that usually settles within a day.

Most patients feel significant improvement in 6–10 visits. My goal is to get you better and graduate you — not to keep you coming back indefinitely. After your initial plan, many patients choose occasional maintenance visits to stay ahead of trouble, but that’s always your choice.

Yes. I’m a VA-credentialed chiropractic provider. If you’re a veteran with a VA community care referral, your chiropractic care with me is fully covered — no copay, no deductible, no out-of-pocket cost. Contact our VA liaison, Kelly Young, to get started.
